Upgrade your morning toast with a few tweaks
If you are gluten free, use gluten free bread, or try sweet potato toast (recipe coming soon) Experiment with different breads for different flavors
Ingredients 2 Slices bread 2 Tbsp almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter 3 Tbsp hemp hearts 1/2 banana 1 tbsp Honey or jam if desired
Directions Toast your bread and slice your banana into small circles Add 1 tbsp almond butter to each slice of bread, sprinkle hemp hearts on the nut butter, then add your banana and drizzle with honey or jam if desired.
Adding 3 Tbsp of hemp hearts to your toast adds an extra 10 grams of protein! Such a simple addition which also includes tons of healthy fats, a small amount of fibre and 1/4 of the RDI of iron. There's also nearly all your RDI of magnesium with a single serving, and all your RDI of manganese.
As you can see, hemp hearts are a great addition to your toast, smoothie, salad, or even add them to your next batch of lentil balls. So many options to add these little gems in!
